BMW's sales plummeted despite the EV boom.

BMW is increasing EV output.

BMW's overall sales plummeted due to China, while EV sales doubled.

BMW AG reported roughly 20% in the second quarter of the current year, even as electric vehicle sale numbers surged.

The German premium automobile company reported second-quarter sales of 563,536 units.

BMW, Mini, and Rolls-Royce are examples. China, BMW's largest market, saw sales drop 28% in the latest quarter, while the US and European markets dropped 15%.

Despite overall sales declines, electric vehicle deliveries doubled in the first half of the year.

BMW said it will double electric vehicle sales this year.

The sales fall follows the global car industry's microprocessor issue.

The automaker's shift toward higher-margin vehicles also affects sales volume.
